Our Origin
We're two guys from Washington State who grew up in the mountains and on the coast—skiing, hiking, surfing, and living for the outdoors. But through it all, we couldn’t find a lip balm that truly kept up with us. Most options were packed with synthetic chemicals, fragrances, and ingredients that ended up doing more harm than good—drying out our lips instead of protecting them. That’s why we created Base Layer. It’s our answer to the harsh elements, made with clean, natural ingredients and housed in recycled paper tubes. Whether you're chasing powder, paddling out, or summiting peaks, Base Layer is the first thing you put on before heading out.
